Alan W. Fiedler

Of Counsel, Alan Fiedler, handles all aspects of intellectual property with extensive legal and technical experience in computers, electronics, artificial intelligence and software for consumer products, digital healthcare, medication delivery devices and diagnostic systems.

He recently came to our firm from his position as Associate General Counsel of Intellectual Property at Becton, Dickinson and Company where he worked for over 28 years supporting their diabetes care, home healthcare, consumer products, acute care and integrated diagnostic solutions businesses. Prior to joining Becton, Dickinson and Company he was an associate at Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper and Scinto in New York City working on patent litigations for IBM pertaining to personal computers and digital control systems after working at AT&T Bell Laboratories in New Jersey as a Member of Technical Staff designing digital telephone systems, military control systems, and fiber-optic computer and networking systems.

  • Creating and executing client-centric worldwide intellectual property strategies using patents, trade secrets, trademarks, and copyrights.
  • Domestic and foreign patent prosecution and related matters including opinions and licensing, with emphasis on the protection, clearance and licensing of electronics, software, and artificial intelligence applications.
  • Client counseling and guidance relating to all areas of intellectual property.
